  My Kindle Associates Store

Question: basic Kindle/Nook questions? I am really interested in getting a Kindle or a Nook because I love to read. However, because I read a lot of books throughout the year, I prefer to borrow books instead of paying for them. Are there many legit sites that allow you to borrow books for free? My library is now starting this service but their selection is very weak right now. I like more current books and Best Sellers. Also, I have a few general questions about the Kindle or Nook… Do you have any technical issues with it or does it run smoothly? Are there any hidden fees associated with either? If I purchase magazines through it, can they be stored permanatly on the device? How much storage does it offer? Can I save mags/books on a Kindle/Nook and then transfer them to my Macbook? What are the pros/cons of Kindle and Nook Color? ” – by ” Dsdas

Answer: Hi Dsdas, you already asked this same question very recently but according to Consumer Reports, CNET, PCWORLD, etc. pro reviews Nook Simple Touch is the best ereader on the market. E-Ink Nook Simple Touch from Barnes & Noble (at $99 with no ads) has twice the battery life of Kindle Touch ($139 without ads), faster page turns than Kindle, and microSD card slot to expand capacity that neither Kindle has. With Nook you can checkout eBooks from public libraries – just need to get Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) software (free from Adobe site). Also it’s worth mentioning that if you walk in with any Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you’ll get tech support and you’re allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi where Nook eBook store has over 2.5 million of paid books and about the same number of free public domain books. Also, no point in getting 3G Kindle now as they limit what web sites you can access (only Amazon store and Wikipedia are allowed.) Nook Tablet has been getting rave pro reviews on the web and it is the best device in it’s class. It’s got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids, etc., the best battery life (30% better than Fire), the best non-glare laminated screen (vs. very reflective non-laminated Fire screen), double the RAM and space for apps/photoes/movies than Kindle Fire, microSD slot and a microphone for Skype (not on Kindle), physical volume controls on the side (not on Kindle) and much zippier performance during video playback and apps usage than choppy/laggy act of Kindle Fire according to many user and pro’s reviews. Known issues with Kindle Fire are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is not true where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, Wi-Fi connection gives a lot of trouble to users on it, etc. Amazon’s own web site has hundreds of reviews (over 1900 already) of Kindle Fire’s new owners that gave it 1 or 2 star reviews and over 1,000 of 3-star reviews because of choppy/laggy experience they got from this underpowered device. There’s no fees with any of the devices but no mater what all Amazon trolls like George Y and Rose D post around here, e-Ink Nook Simple Touch and LCD/IPS Nook Tablet from Barnes & Noble are much better devices than comparable Kindle models.

Question: I’ve been studying them, but I think I need some personal opinions. I’m leaning towards a Sony now, because (OMG PINK!) since it’s sold through Norwegian retailers, I have a lot more rights as a buyer should it break. If it breaks they will fix it for free for the next five years, no matter what the problem is. No questions asked. If I buy a kindle and it breaks and I can’t prove it’s manufacture fault, no one will fix it since it’s Washington law. Other than that, the Kindle both have internet and it seems the kindle store has a lot more books. But again, the Sony is PINK! Also smaller and I think it feels sturdier. So, I know what their features are, but does anyone have any personal experiences with either kindle or sony or both? ” – by ” Lucky Ninja Paris

Answer: Hei Julie, I’ll answer in English considering other would like to know, but it is always good to see a fellow Norwegian on Yahoo answers. Anyway, I would go for a Kindle. I have owned both a Sony 650BC and a Kindle 3, and in my opinion the Kindle is by far the better eReader. It is lighter, faster, lasts longer and have much more content than the Sony. The only drawback (for you that is) is that Amazon do not make them in pink. PS. don’t worry about the Kindle breaking down, mine has never had a problem. A friend of mine had a little issue with his so he sent it to Amazon and they replaced it for him, pre-loaded with all his books. My Sony has more problems associated with it than the Kindle by far. Good luck with the chocice and check out the web-site below if you want to know more.

Question: I have a E-Book reader through Amazon on my PC, but want to get a Book reader outside of Amazon. I have seen some at stores but don’t know if i’ll be able to use them to pull up my books. Not just B&N either.. Just a simple Kindle. ” – by ” John Crisp

Answer: Three possibilities for reading ebooks from book stores or download sites http://www.howtodecide.com/ebook-download/ other than the one associated with your ereader: 1. Use ereader software for a different ereader on another platform to read the ebook. Kindle, Nook, and Sony, for example, have readers for PC’s, Macs, and other hardware platforms. 2. Use an ereader that also supports the ebook format. For example, many ereaders can read EPUB. 3. Use conversion software such as Calibre: http://calibre-ebook.com/ If the ebook does not have DRM (copy-protection), then Calibre should be able to convert it for you.

Question: There’s a book series I love that’s published in the UK, and I live in the US. The newest is coming out next month and I already have a physical copy ordered but it will take almost 2 weeks to get here. I was thinking about getting the ebook so I could read it as soon as it came out, but is there a way to get an Amazon UK ebook on your US Kindle? If I change the country associated with my Kindle, will that screw up anything else on my Amazon account? And will the ebook disappear if I change it back to the US? ” – by ” Madison

Answer: You can switch the country of the Kindle store to access, see here for details: http://budurl.com/KindleCountrySwitch However, I wonder if you can get U.K. Kindle books, as you’re in the U.S. If the publisher hasn’t got the book available to U.S. yet, it may only be available to U.K. customers… You can contact Amazon to see if they can do anything for you.

Question: Apart from amazon store where else can I download it Please app should work properly Torrent or direct link accepted ” – by ”

Answer: Honestly the amazon app store is the best place to download apps or games since they are specifically tested for the fire. You can side load android apps from elseware but they might or might not work. If your not aware of it, you might check out the android “app-a-day” deal, since amazon is releasing one free commercial app a day for download here: http://www.shoppersource.net/goto/fire_app_a_day If you click download on your computer from the same amazon account associated with your kindle, it will automatically download onto your device. There are also tons of free apps available as well here: http://www.shoppersource.net/goto/fire_apps It’s easier to browse for free apps on your computer since you’ll have more filter controls – and just hit download to load them on your kindle.

Question: Once you buy it, are the books like apps for iPhone/itouch/iPad? Do they have free ones? Or do you have to pay for every book in addition to the price of the Kindle/Nook? And do they have like every kind of book? Thanks. ” – by ” Benji Slate

Answer: Yes, there are free and for-purchase books available for both ereaders. They have nearly every kind of book. You could check-out ebook stores and free ebook sites before you buy your ereader to make sure you can find the sorts of books you like (and see which ones will be free and how much the rest are). The first place to check is the site associated with the ereader you’re planning to buy. There are also many other sites and stores; here’s a list of them: http://www.howtodecide.com/ebook-download/ .

Question: Hi, I’m moving to Las Vegas, Sunday from Washington State. I’ve visited there before and love it and now I am going to school there. For you who live in the desert, what is your advice to stay hydrated, cool and healthy? I have never lived in the desert before and am concerned about making sure that I’m not going to pass out from dehydration or something! Yes I am very nervous and probably over thinking but I want to take care of myself. Thanks! ” – by ” LV51sfan91

Answer: 1. Get a wide-brimmed “boonie” hat, like the troops wear. It’s your best friend in a desert climate. 2. For outdoors hiking/climbing, find a water bottle that’s either comfortable to wear, or if you’re carrying a knapsack, take two. If biking, fill your frame-attached water bottle before starting out. 3. Thin, long-sleeve shirts and full-length pants give you better protection from skin cancer. The boonie does the same for your face. 4. For your vehicle, always keep at least one gallon of DISTILLED water in your trunk. You can use it for either your radiator (boilover) or yourself (stranded). Be aware that the water will be warm or hot during summer. Extra tip: I don’t know what your living arrangement will be, but residents in desert climates save money by using “evaporative coolers” instead of traditional “refrigerative” AC. It’s like standing between two wet sheets on a clothesline, with fan-forced air.

Question: I cut my hair last summer to just under my ears, and now the back only just touches my shoulders and it hasn’t grown much at all. How do I make it grow quicker?? ” – by ” Ria

Answer: Okay, first there is NO shampoo nor conditioner in the world that promotes hair growth. But, there are some things to help the process of hair growth. People keep telling you (I bet) “Hair only grows half and inch a month period” or something like that. But they are wrong! An AVERAGE person’s hair grows 1/2″ others my grow like 1/4″ or 3/4′ to an inch, if you take really good care of your hair. Read the following tips: 1) Trimming, people say it will make your hair grow faster. It does not! It gets rid of the split ends and damaged, that equals healthy hair. 2) The sun helps hair growth, so that means in the Summer your hair grows a slight faster 3) Water, you reach into the fridge and you notice a bottle of water, you will take it. DON’T!! Look on the back were the ingredients are. The second or third (I can’t remember) ingredient is High Fructose Corn Syrup. This is not only bad for your hair, your whole body too. Think “This random girl named Cici on Yahoo! Answers says that Soda and everything with High Fructose Corn Syrup it bad let’s get some tasty water! 4)Exercise! This also is not only good for your hair but actually for your whole body! (Well, I think you already know that duh!) 5) Don’t use a cheap shampoo or conditioner it makes your hair dry and brittle causing breakage. 6) Massage your scalp, it get’s the blood flowing to your hair. Don’t do it with your fingernails, do it for like a minute or two 7) Don’t over shampoo or condition, your hair needs natural oils. Shampoo: A QUARTER size. Conditioner: A DIME size. 8) Stay off heat! I know ugh! But the heat damages your hair ruining your whole process of growing out your hair. 9) Air dry your hair once you get out of the shower. Towel dry is OK to do, but when you rub your hair together it causes split ends also ruining your whole process of hair growth. 10) Have a healthy diet! “You are what you eat” they say. Your hair needs nutrition. The foods you should eat are: Eggs, almonds/nuts, meat, chicken etc., Milk etc. etc. 11) If you are old enough take Biotin or Hair, Skin and Nails. 12) Hair grows 6 inches in a year! 13) Use luke warm water or cool water while washing your hair. If using warm at the end use a splash of cold water that locks the shiny in your hair. 14) Oh, forgot before you start growing out your hair, you may not like this but get a trim, not saying it will promote hair growth but your hair needs a fresh start. Oh, wow didn’t mean to write a long essay XD. Anyway..my hair grows about 1 inch in the Winter and almost 1 1/2 in the Summer. Hope you enjoyed reading, Have a nice hair growth! Good luck!!!!!! Oh, and try not to get a Sulfate shampoo like TRESemmé (or get TRESemme’ naturals) also, Mane N’ Tail have sulfate! The brand I use is Organix! Sulfate free! What Sulfate does is strip natural oils from your hair and causes damage and to make your hair icky etc. Good luck!

Question: Hello, I am completely inexperienced in this field, I recently took a look at my face and decided I should do something to care for it so I tried going to CVS to buy a Cleanser, a Toner, and Moisturizer, when I got there I saw an overwhelming amount of products and did not know what to start with so I ended up buying what I thought was good by following some tips I have read on the internet, but when I got home and looked up the products I bought and it turns out that my cleanser caused irritation to almost all the reviewers that used this product, and the same for my moisturizer, most people agreed that it dries up far too quickly specially now that winter is near, so I really need help I don’t know what to get, when I google what brands or product to buy all I find is tips to look for in a bottle but I still wont know what is good and what is not. Please refer me to a brand and product I could use for this season in Cleanser, Toner, and Moisturizer, oh and also the exfoliating cream that I am supposed to use weekly. My skin is shiny and it does not feel greasy, maybe a little, when I get out of the shower my skin is dry for a while and it can get flaky but then it gets shiny again, and it is the same during the winter, it gets dry sometimes flaky and other times it is shiny, so yes I am very confused as to what type of skin I have. Thank you in advanced for any help you can give. ” – by ” Rendey

Answer: Once the weather has turned crisp and people start bundling up from the cold, most skin care regimes go out of the window. Skin takes a beating during the winter months and becomes tight, dry, dull and lacklustre from neglect and adverse weather conditions. Some people even develop skin conditions such as flaking, cracking and eczema. The secret to beautiful skin during the summer months is to keep up skincare regimes all year round and that includes during the frigid winter months. One skincare routine that most people stop during winter is the religious application of sunscreen. Despite the lack of sunshine, skin can still be damaged during winter by harmful UV rays and glare from snow, causing wrinkles and aging especially in the fine skin around the eyes. Sunscreen should still be applied on a daily basis – use a broad spectrum sunscreen and apply it to all exposed areas, including the hands and face at least half an hour before going outside. Skin also needs intensive moisturization during winter. Skin loses its natural oils because of the harsh weather conditions and indoor heating which saps the skin of its natural hydration, making it more fragile and prone to damage. The body and face should be moisturized on a daily basis, especially those areas that are covered up by winter woollies, as this will stop the skin from drying out and will maintain the natural oils. Sometimes the facial moisturizer that worked well in the summer months will need to be changed in the harsher winter months. An oil based moisturizer should be considered as the oil will create a protective layer and will retain more moisture. However, care should be taken in choosing the type of oil because some clog the pores and cause even more skin problems. Non-clogging oils such as avocado, mineral, sandalwood or primrose should be used and…

Question: Besides using sunscreen on my face, that is. I use SPF 70 on my face every day (and my foundation has SPF 15). I was wondering what else I could use to keep my face looking young as possible. I would prefer to use natural and/or homemade remedies, as opposed to store bought products (which can be quite expensive). Any tips are much appreciated, thanks! ” – by ” Nousername

Answer: Use gentle skin care products on your face and get into a skin care routine that involves cleasning and moisturising every day. Using moisturiser daily is supposed to keep people looking younger for longer. Avoid the sun when it’s at its strongest. Never sunbathe. Try to eat a balanced diet now and don’t drink too much alcohol or drink alcohol too often. When people drink too much alcohol it often dehydrates their skin and makes them look older. Drink around 2 litres of water daily cause it will hydrate your skin and hydrated skin will look younger and be more likely to stay younger for longer I think. Sometimes the simplest products is what keeps people looking young. For instance many people swear using ponds cold cream daily is what has kept them looking young and youthful so you could try using that. It’s really cheap as well. You could try if you don’t already, switching your foundation to tinted moisturiser. Most tinted moisturisers contain SPF and UV protection nowadays and they will keep your skin moisturised throughout the day and are more likely to help prevent dry and dehyrated skin than a lot of normal foundations. Laura Mercier apparently do good ones and they contain SPF 20. Another thing is to remove make up every night before bed to let your skin breathe. Also as you would avoid strong sun in the summer and protect against that, avoid harsh weather in winter as much as possible as that can leave skin looking weathered. Do regular exercise as exercise is known to keep skin looking young radient. Try to maintain a healthy weight as being overweight or too thin can make people look older so keep a balance. Ageing isn’t just about a good skin care routine though, although a good skin care routine from as youg a age as possible makes a huge difference and having a good diet does as well but it can also depend on genetics.

Question: I want to grow my hair long over the summer =] What natural things could you put in your hair to make it grow long and healthy? (And faster, if possible, but it doesn’t really matter) Things that I already have in the house. Like foods or oils? Thanks =] 10 points to a good answer. Ok, what can you eat to make your hair grow longer? =] ” – by ” Steph

Answer: To improve hair growth you need to improve overall hair health, healthy hair and scalp will improve growth and condition of your hair, which in turn means you’ll have fewer split ends – even though you’re growing your hair still get regular trims as there’s no good in hanging onto split ends. Hair grows from folicles, as new hair cells are made old ones are pushed out to the surface of the skin where they harden and die creating hair. As hair is dead hair treatments effect on growth and hair quality are limited, you need good overall health to really improve hair health and increase growth. Try monistat, yes it’s a yeast ifnection cream, but it contains some of the same chemicals as rogaine so stimulates hair growth when massaged into your scalp, only without costing the earth. Massage is a seriously good way to help increase growth, I like to massage a few drops of rosemary essential oil into my scalp before washing my hair, rosemary is belived to stimulate hair growth. Massaging your scalp will improve health of your scalp and hair, also massaging promotes circulation around the hair follicles to promote growth, just use your fingers to massage your scalp in small circular movement being careful not to rub as it’ll damage your hair. Get into the habbit of massaging as often as you can, before washing your hair and also massage during washing your hair. I highly recommend going without shampoo, it’ll vastly improve your hairs condition and increase growth, essentially it is avoiding shampoo as this is nothing more than harsh detergent that strips away hairs natural oils and can contain harsh chemicals. If you stop using shampoo your hair will be much healthier, stronger, shiny, easier to manage, will grow faster and it won’t get greasy as when using shampoo your scalp overcompensates by creating more oils to replace what shampoo stripped away. You still wash your hair but instead use either water-only, no-poo or conditioner-only/curly girl methods. For no-poo you use one tablespoon baking soda to one cup of warm water, apply to your roots working it in and let it sit for a minute, this stimulates blood flow, cleans pores and gets off built-up grime, then rinse with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to one cup water, let it sit for a minute and then rinse out. Long-haired people tend to prefer the curly girl method also known as conditioner only, simply use conditioner to wash hair with as this has enough detergent to cleanse but won’t strip hair of natural oils as shampoo would. Seriously, don’t be scared to try it as you’re guaranteed better hair. More information; http://babyslime.livejournal.com/174054.html http://www.wikihow.com/Follow-the-Curly-Girl-Method-for-Curly-Hair http://motowngirl.com/no_shampoo.php http://reactor-core.org/shampoo-scam.html Avoid hair dryers as overheating can damage your hair and never rub with a towel as it will damage the hair cuticles, instead leave to dry naturally or if you do use a hairdryer use protecting sprays and choose a dryer with lighter or cooler settings – use until your hairs 90% dry, no more. Also try using a hair brush with natural bristles as these are much genler on your hair and can improve shine, another tip is to use a satin or silk pillow as this prevents hair snagging as it can on other materials, it also helps smooth hair so improves shine. Avoid chemicals as much as possible, most commercial toileteries will contain some pretty nasty chemicals that can cause a lot of damage to your hair – even those products that claim to improve hairs condition. Look into natural brands like Lush or Neal’s Yard, or even consider making your own hair care products, there are plenty of cheap books or web sites about with natural hair care products you can easily make at home. Avoid chemical dies too, I saw first-hand how bad chemical dies were for my hair, it was very badly damaged and took trice as long to dry or style, switching to henna dye is so much better, and as well as used for changing hair colour it can also be used as a fantastic conditioning treatment (use deep conditioning treatments like henna once a month). The best place for henna is http://www.hennaforhair.com Things such as stress or bad diet can seriously effect your hair, I saw the huge effect diet has on hair when one of my friends sadly became anorexic, the effects started showing allarmingly fast, as well as effecting general health her hair became so brittle it would litterally fall appart in her hands. Don’t underestimate the importance of diet, don’t follow fad diets or yo-yo diet, instead keep up a good healthy diet at all times and don’t punish yourself for the occasional treat. Particularly helpful foods are oily fish like sardines, oats, nuts, seeds, guavas, papyas, and of course lots of water, using a good multivitamin will help (you can get hair & nail vitamins but they aren’t necissery) and also I’d recommend flax seed oil in capsule form.

Good luck!

Question: I don’t want to look 45 at age 15 (over exaggeration) so i’m just wondering some home remedies that would help reduce the aging process, reduce wrinkles and make my skin healthier. I really want to know some more things on this subject so please give me your opinions.(other than getting enough sleep which i’m going to continue. ” – by ” Taylor

Answer: Massaging with pure natural oils is all you need. It literally can work wonders. Oils not only permanently healed my many skin conditions but gave me a near flawless, young looking and vibrant skin with very few`wrinkles. I am often thought to be many years younger. Extra virgin olive, almond and grape seed oils are noncomedogenic so do not clog, cause breakouts, or make skin oily. They feed and nourish skin many vital nourishing nutrients and and are perfect safe moisturizers that rejuvenate and benefit it in countless ways. Countless moisturizing products contain harsh skin sickening chemical ingredients that harm and so prematurely age and wrinkle skin. For best results massage quite vigorously after first tightening skin by opening mouth 3/4″ and pulling lips firmly back against teeth. Quite firm and vigorous massage exercises and conditions many of face muscles – thus combating their weakening as we age that first leads to sagging and in turn wrinkling and lines. Do a forward and back massage with front and tips of fingers and palms where possible. Circular motion will not be effective. In first few days skin will be much firmer, will visibly tighten, look and feel smoother and it will start to glow. It can totally revitalize and rejuvenate skin and face. Oils are more healing and benefiting if left on. They are perfect safe natural moisturizers.Only wipe away surface excess with water and tissues. Will not leave face oily looking. Many moisturizing and other skincare and cosmetic products were identified in tests conducted by “Skin Deep Cosmetic Database” as having toxins and chemical ingredients that can seriously harm and sicken skin and pose health threats. Question: The doctor gave me prescription-levels of salicylic acid, but it didn’t seem to help that much. It made my skin peel and the dermatitis patch was still there–it’s on my forehead. Anyone know of any remedies? ” – by ” >;-;<

Answer: Seborrheic dermatitis can be kept under control with treatment and good hygiene. However, seborrheic dermatitis cannot be prevented, and may recur. To reduce the symptoms of dandruff, shampoos containing selenium sulfide or tea tree oil such as Selsun, Tegrin, T-Gel or Ionil-T are recommended. Seborrheic dermatitis that develops on the face and body should be washed with soap and water daily. If Seborrheic dermatitis affects facial hair such as mustache or beard, shaving the area usually helps. Other treatments that may be prescribed by your doctor or dermatologist include medicated shampoos, antifungal drugs, topical corticosteroids and sulfur products. More and more people are opting for natural approaches to treat skin conditions. Treatments such as herbal remedies and tissue salts have been used for centuries to optimize skin health with some amazing results. Using herbs are safe and effective for the skin and do not contain harsh synthetic ingredients and chemicals like so many skincare and cosmetic products. Herbs such as Galium aperine (Cleavers) and Trifolium pratense (red clover) have a wide range of therapeutic effects that acts as a cleansing tonic, blood purifier and lymphatic cleanser. Tissue salts such as Natrium muriaticum, Kalium muriaticum and Kalium sulphate help to maintain skin health and promote well-hydrated skin.

Question: Before I get started this will be kind of long and PLEASE just don’t talk about cleansers, scrubs all that stuff because that’s just going to make my skin worst . I want NATURAL ways to control my acne. And I’ll be talking about other things. Okay.]. I’m 14 and I started getting pimples around 11 years old. A few months after I turned 12 my face went full with pimples specially my forehead. From night to day it happened like puff I have acne. It was horrible, frustrating and I wish I could go back and prevent it but I just can’t. I started benzoyl peroxide which amazingly helped out a lot. My face is I would say 85% clear after that. But I still get break outs a lot. I didn’t even know it could be so many things causing my acne! Hormones, bad eating, not getting sleep, not enough water etc. Why would a 12 year old even care about skincare? I got obsessed with having clear skin. I stressed out because everyone at school had super clear skin, I bet they eat junk foods, not wash their face, don’t get enough sleep. They are immature kids so I bet they wouldn’t care either way. I’ts just not fair, to many people who have acne. But you can’t change your genes or get clear skin in one day. I did lots of research on acne and I learned a lot to plan something but I’m still doing something wrong and I don’t know what. It’s summer so I’m going to the gym every single day no matter what. I’m eating less, drinking more water, I’m working on getting more sleep though. I’ve used natural remedies and nothing yet seems to work!! Is it my hormones? Genes? Lifestyle? WHAT IS IT?! What I need to know: Foods/drinks that control hormones And also I would like some pages with good info on acne and stuff like that. A way to plan out a better skin care routine INVOLVING NO PRODUCTS (might start the caveman regimen and even go vegetarian) And what foods to avoid I would prefer long answers. And just for extra fun, tell me, do you deal with acne? Or are you lucky enough to have clear skin ? Don’t give some petty link to a page that probably has a virus. If you are not going to be serious about this, then GET OFF yahoo answers. People come here with serious questions. I bet you wouldn’t like no one fooling around on your question . ” – by ” Bella

Answer: Well I read the entire thing but you never mentioned about having oil on your face (if you did sorry I missed it) but when your skin detects water it opens up pores to clean them out but if it is there for too long then that can cause SOME of the acne. if you have black heads on your nose and try to remove them you might have seen oil coming out. The cleansers you use isnt working is because it makes things worse either your skin is too dry or still oily or harms your skin. This is just possibilities Suggestions: eat right, use shampoo, change pillow case, reduce oil without creams, and lookup deep cleanser INFORMATION for pores So try oil abosrobing sheets (not a cream) clean and clear just sheets and try eating more fruits and less junk food I tried eating less junk food and acne started reducing And one last thing what do u notice on your face is it just lots of pimples or dark and red spots on your face? Try looking it up I’m am also very sorry If I wasted your time and none of these works Good luck

Question: Ok I admit it, I don’t take very good care of my face. I wash it with makeup wipes and go to bed, apply a bit of moisturizer and then slap on some more makeup. Sometimes I will wash it with Clean & Clear face wash. I know I should probably be using a nice serum to make my skin look and feel healthier and to combat age (I’m only 23 now but I want to get a jump on wrinkles and age signs!) What do you recommend as a good regimen for facial skin care. What products do you think work? I am Caucasian with fair skin. It’s not really very oily but tends to get dry in the summer heat. I still break out a bit every once in a while and my biggest complaint is dark under eye circles. Any ideas on what I should buy? What do you like to use? ” – by ” Nicole

Answer: skip the serum for now, it’s a bit too early to start it. i like using Dove for Sensitive Skin Cleanser – it’s gentle, effective and won’t dry your skin out I love Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer with SPF. It evens out skin tone and protects too. I also like Olay Complete with SPF. I started using a basic night cream around 23 too (no need to use anti-wrinkle stuff yet, but the added moisture is great for the skin). try Dove, or Nivea. exfoliate regularly with a gentle exfoliator (something with microbeads or a homemade mix of sugar or baking soda with your cleanser works great). i’m not sure about eye creams. i don’t have dark circles, but I like Clinique All About Eyes Rich. The key at this stage in your skin care is to protect it from the Sun and environmental damage, and moisturize to prevent loss of elasticity.

Please tell me about cleansers and moisterizers and and makeup remover, which ones you use, and which products can clean throughly and gently! I’m really grateful I don’t even know the basics! ” – by ” Dianna

Answer: yeah ill be 15 this july i use proactiv. it works like magic! the moisturizers that come with it work really well. a little goes a long way with that stuff. i also like bath & body works lotion. its so soft it makes your skin as soft as a baby’s bottom! lol other than that i dont put a ton of stuff on my face. i used to use this amaaaazing moisturizer by smashbox, called “picture prefect” or something like that. it was made with ingredients from apricot and more, and softened and gave your skin a picture-perfect finish 🙂 before proactiv, i used Oxy facial pads, and they didnt do a whole lot for me. one day i washed my face with oxy pads in the morning, then Sea Breeze ones at night. the next day i woke up with a terrible bumpy rash on my face. i read the back of both packages to see if i had any allergies. i saw that it said “do not combine with other products. it may cause irritation or rash” and it sure did! what i used to try to cover the rash was my moms Bare Mnerals. its good cuz it wont clog your pores and cause more acne. the only bad part was that im a little too pale for my moms Bare Minerals kit 😀 good luck finding products!

Answer: Here are some tips for beautiful skin : * Don’t go to bed with makeup on. Makeup left on overnight seeps into your pores, clogs them, and congests your skin. Make sure that you wash your face twice at the end of the day. Once to get the makeup off. A second time to wash the skin itself. * Exfoliate daily. After washing your face at night, be sure to exfoliate. Use a delicate scrub. If you don’t have one on hand, a tablespoon of sugar or oatmeal will work just fine. * Use facial masks regularly. If possible, everyday is ideal. Again, if you don’t have one on hand, make your own. Mashed banana or avocado is good. Plain yogurt also works well. * Keep a treatment and moisturizer on your face, day or night. Put your skin first. After you wash it at night, put on some kind of skin treatment, whether it’s alpha hydroxy acids, vitamin A or C, or any kind of special cocktail treatment. Let that sink in, then put a moisturizer over that. In the morning, do the same. * Don’t use the cheapest or most expensive cosmetics. Mom tells me that moderately priced cosmetics are the best. They get the job done, and the ingredients are usually pretty good. You have to keep trying various brands until you find something that works well for you. * Hydrate your face throughout the day. Whether it’s a commercial product, or one you make yourself (fill a spray bottle with distilled water, add a few drops of chamomile or rose essential oil, shake it gently before each use, and spray it on) hydrate your face, even over makeup, frequently throughout the day. * Treat your face gently. Never pull, tug, or scrub your facial skin. Be very gentle when you clean it, moisturize it or makeup on it. This will lessen the chance that you’ll damage your skin and get wrinkles. * Keep your face covered when you’re in the sun. As beautiful as she is, my mom never lets anyone see her face when she’s in the sun. She’ll slather on a high factor sunscreen, put on sunglasses, and a wide brimmed hat. * Eat fresh foods and drink lots of water. My mom tells me to stay away from “dead food” food that’s basically not fresh. She always eat lots of veggies, fruits, nuts, and drinks tons of water. * Let go of stress. Stress can show up on your face, no matter how well you take care of your skin. Do something your enjoy everyday, whether it’s watching TV or going shopping. Your face reflects what’s going on inside of your mind. Hope i could help ♥

Mens Skin Care

Question: I decided I’m no longer gonna buy men’s face cleaner. I think girl’s face cleaner is same thing and costs three dollars less for more produce….or at least for the low end girl face cleaners. Anyways, what is a good face cleaner for women that men can use from walmart? i bought some stuff called “apricot exfoliating face scrub.” Is that good for men? They also had stuff called “face cleaner” as opposed to exfoliater. What do I need? ” – by ” psmtz

Answer: Face cleaner you can use everyday, twice a day, whatever. every time you wash your face. Yeah if you wanna use women’s instead of mens and no one is going to make fun of you for it, I say go ahead. Anyway, exfoliator has little pieces of stuff in it (in this case, ground apricot seed) that scrubs all the dead skin cells and junk off your face. You dont need to use that everyday (nor should you) just two or three times a week (or read the directions on the bottle) because its harsher. I’d use both, to really take care of your skin. But if you’re only getting one definitely get the face cleanser.

Question: I always cut myself and get bad razor burn when shaving because I have super sensitive skin and really thick facial hair. I don’t really care about having too close of a shave. Would an electric razor work good for me? I have a really bad problem with ingrown hairs. Would the electric razor make them worse? What electric razor would be best too buy? I’d rather not spend a lot of money. ” – by ” Scott R

Answer: My husband has the same problem with a heavy beard and sensitive skin. He doesn’t like most electric razors, he says they feel like they’re pulling the hair out instead of cutting it. He uses the Gillette Mach 3 blades. He says they’re much better than the cheap razors. He was at his brothers this summer and had to borrow a razor and his brother just had cheap Bic razors. He said it just tore his face up something fierce He says it also makes a big difference when he uses a good shaving gel and face lotion. Cheap shaving foam stuff makes it much worse so he uses Neutrogena shaving gel and their mens face lotion when he’s done instead of after shave. With these items he doesn’t have a problem at all.

What Is Rosacea – Symptoms & Treatment

Question: I have tried benzaclin. It did nothing for me. I was on it for six months. Then, I tried retin-A. My acne only got worse. I was on a liquid, but that caused severe stomach problems and a painful trip to the hospital. I’m going to my dermatologist on Wednesday becuase my face is the worst that it has ever been in my entire life and I want to shoot myself because I look so horrible. Here’s a picture of my forehead- my main problem. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a378/alcheny/DSCN0306-1.jpg What prescription acne medication has worked best for you? Which should I try? I’m completely running out of options. ” – by ” Isa .

Answer: Hi Isa Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Remedies at the bottom. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood. Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. – “What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, rosacea, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body’s first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems.” Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. – “Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body’s overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin.” Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Juice Fasting is the world’s most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body. Learn more about Therapeutic Fasting and Detoxification – Colon Cleansing is the main step. Must remove the toxins from the colon, so the toxins dont get in the blood and cause illness and disease. Natural Cures 1. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot & spinach, celery & watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne. 2. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity — wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Must do a colon cleanse to rid of all the toxins in the body, which eventually get into the blood and cause acne and all other diseases. 3. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful. 4. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne… will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night. 5. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of …acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm–we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds. Best of health to you

Question: ” – by ” Linda E

Answer: There are some new meds on the market for rosacea – hope you’re able to visit a dermatologist and discuss this with him or her. Rosacea rarely disappears without treatment. In fact, it tends to get worse over time if left untreated. Although it cannot be cured, several treatment options exist that can control the redness, inflammation and skin eruptions commonly experienced with the condition. They include: Over-the-counter topical treatments. A physician may recommend moisturizers, soaps, sunscreens and other products to improve the overall health of the skin. Topical antibiotics. Prescription medication applied directly to the skin for both their anti-inflammatory qualities and antibacterial qualities. Oral antibiotics. Medication taken by mouth to kill bacteria. These tend to work faster than topical antibiotics. Sometimes, both topical and oral antibiotics are prescribed. Other medications. Certain acne medications may be prescribed for some patients instead of or along with antibiotics. These include topical sulfur and azelaic acid. In very severe cases of rosacea, the acne medication isotretinoin may be prescribed. Laser surgery and electrosurgery. Extreme cases of rosacea, such as those that involve rhinophyma (thickening of the skin usually on the nose), may be treated with laser or electrosurgery. These techniques are used to reduce the visibility of enlarged blood vessels, remove tissue buildup around the nose and improve the overall appearance of the skin. Question: ” – by ” danghel@sbcglobal.net

Answer: Treatment Options Rosacea How is it treated? While rosacea currently has no cure, various treatments are available that can help control it. Treatment may also keep it from progressing. Since the symptoms of rosacea usually vary not only from individual to individual, but also from time to time for any one patient, the choice of treatment will depend on the subtype and severity of rosacea, as well as on the patient’s emotional and physical impairment. Some rosacea treatment options include topical antibiotics, other topical preparations, oral antibiotics, laser therapy, and plastic surgery. The main goals of rosacea treatment are to control the flare-up, prevent or decrease progression, and improve the appearance of the skin. Unfortunately, several weeks or months of treatment may be needed before improvement is apparent. In fact, topical treatments may even worsen facial redness at first. Most often, laser therapy is used to eliminate tiny widened blood vessels under the skin, and surgery removes thickened skin (most commonly from the nose). Laser and surgical treatments usually result in bruising and/or swelling that may take several days to disappear. Drug Treatment Generally, a rosacea flare-up is treated with a combination of prescription drugs. A topical product (an antibiotic and/or another type of drug) may be applied to the affected areas and oral antibiotics may be taken, as well. Both topical and oral medications are used to reduce inflammation and/or control micro-organisms that may be involved with the flare-up. Once the flare-up is under control, oral antibiotics usually are discontinued. Topical products are often used continuously, however, to help maintain remission and prevent recurrence. Topical Preparations The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved three topical products — metronidazole, azaleic acid, and sodium sulfacetamide and sulfur — for treating rosacea. Topical preparations, which may come in a variety of forms that include creams, gels, ointments, and solutions, are applied directly to affected areas of the face. While topical antibiotics are widely used to treat rosacea, their effectiveness may be due more to anti-inflammatory or antioxidant properties than to antibiotic activity. A cream or gel form of metronidazole is the topical antibiotic most often used for rosacea. Other topical antibiotics that may be used to treat the condition include clindamycin and erythromycin. Topical tretinoin, a vitamin A derivative that is not an antibiotic, sometimes is used to reduce rosacea papules and pustules. Benzoyl peroxide, commonly used in both prescription and over-the-counter products to treat teen acne, may also treat rosacea eruptions. Not only antibacterial, benzoyl peroxide also promotes exfoliation (also called desquamation) — it causes dead skin cells to fall off. It may cause stinging and worsen redness for some patients, however. In fact, most topical medications cause dryness, which may make skin look and feel more irritated — especially when therapy is begun. Gently applying small amounts of the topical preparation only twice a day, avoiding sunlight, and applying a water-based moisturizer can help reduce irritation. Oral Antibiotics Short treatments (a few days or weeks) of an oral antibiotic, such as azithromycin, clarithromycin, doxycycline, erythromycin, minocycline, or tetracycline, may be given to control a flare-up. Frequently, these drugs are also used to treat teen acne. Due to possible side effects, longer-term oral antibiotics usually are reserved for rosacea patients with more severe forms of the condition or for those with eye-related symptoms. Typically, oral antibiotics are more effective than topical antibiotics in clearing papules and pustules. Occasionally other types of oral drugs may be used to treat rosacea. For example, isotretinoin, which is used mainly for teen acne, may help clear rosacea papules and pustules. Improvement may take several weeks to be visible, though, and oral isotretinoin has multiple side effects that limit its use for some individuals. Some women with rosacea have seen improvement in skin eruptions while taking oral contraceptives. Certain blood-pressure medications may reduce facial redness for some individuals. These treatments are not FDA-approved for rosacea. To learn more about topical antibiotics, other topical preparations, and oral antibiotics used to treat rosacea, click on the drug class links below. Laser Therapy Mainly used for the removal of tiny broken blood vessels in the skin, vascular laser therapy can also be used to reduce red bumps and skin thickening. Currently, Pulsed Dye Lasers (PDLs), which work by releasing a strong burst of precisely-directed, single-wavelength light onto the affected skin, are used in treating rosacea. Heat from the vascular laser causes damaged blood vessels under the skin to collapse and disappear. Usually lasting for about 15 to 30 minutes at a time, PDL treatments generally cover a small area of the face at a time. Typically, multiple treatments are needed. Because patients may need several days to recover from bruising, pain, redness, or swelling that may follow laser treatments, the treatments are typically scheduled at 4 to 6 week intervals. Laser therapy may improve skin appearance, but it cannot remove excess tissue. Because they do not break the skin, vascular laser techniques usually result in little or no scarring. However, most patients feel a painful stinging sensation during the laser pulses and up to one-fifth of patients experience temporary or permanent hyperpigmentation (darkened spots) after laser treatments for rosacea. During treatment, the face may have a patchwork appearance of treated and untreated areas. Dermabrasion Dermabrasion involves the use of a rough material to wear away the top layers of skin that has been deadened with a chemical spray. The new skin that appears in about a week is usually smoother. For rosacea, dermabrasion is used mainly for patients who have thickened skin. The use of dermabrasion for other forms of rosacea is controversial; some dermatologists think it may worsen skin reddening. Dermabrasion may also leave scars or darkened areas of skin. Plastic Surgery Usually, plastic surgery is reserved for patients whose skin has thickened severely. Most often, a type of surgery called rhinoplasty (“a nose job”) is used to restructure the nose. It involves removing the excess skin and other tissue that has accumulated. Surgically removing tissue not only can reduce the size of the nose, it can also lessen surface bumps — often improving appearance dramatically. To treat rosacea, surgery is usually an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthetic in a clinic, doctor’s office, or hospital outpatient department. Several different surgical techniques have been successful for rosacea depending on the extent of deformation. They include: Traditional plastic surgery – Using a scalpel (a thin knife blade), the surgeon cuts away excess tissue and remodels areas it has deformed. Rosacea patients undergoing traditional surgery may be hospitalized – especially if large areas of tissue must be removed. They may need general anesthesia and recovery may take several weeks. Possible side effects from traditional plastic surgery include bruises, headaches, pain, scarring, and swelling. Since traditional plastic surgery involves cuts in the skin, infection may occur. Electroknife (Hot Knife) – This technique uses a highly-localized electric current applied through a fine wire to remove skin and reshape the disfigured nose. The heat from the electric current closes off the ends of tiny blood vessels, which helps to reduce bleeding and bruising. Damage to surrounding areas of the face may be less than with traditional plastic surgery, but similar side effects may occur. Recovery time may be shorter, however, usually about two weeks. Laser – Lasers used in surgery (usually an argon, CO2, or YAG laser) are different from the vascular lasers used to remove broken blood vessels and red spots. Light from a surgical laser penetrates deeper and literally vaporizes extra tissue. Laser treatment is usually less painful than traditional plastic surgery, but burns and swelling may result. Emotional Support In addition to treating the physical aspects of rosacea, attention also should be given to any related psychological issues. While treatment of the physical symptoms often helps to relieve self-esteem problems that may be associated with rosacea, several weeks or months of drug treatment may be needed to see improvement in skin appearance. Laser treatment may produce areas of normal-looking skin among patches of not-yet-treated, reddened skin. Either laser or surgical treatments may leave temporary swelling and/or permanent discoloration or scars. Individuals who experience emotional side effects of rosacea may want to consider counseling or join a rosacea support group. If anxiety or depression interferes with daily life, medication may be needed. Question: I think that i have it, and i want to know some ways to treat or ever cure it. I have a red face that covers my whole cheek area, and is starting to go to the neck. I also have a warm face no matter what, and my eyes are usually dry and scratchy. ” – by ” WatchUinURsleep

Answer: Though rosacea doesn’t have a cure, treatments can control and reduce the signs and symptoms. If you experience persistent redness of your face, see your doctor for a diagnosis and proper treatment. You may need a combination of prescription-strength topical medication (lotion, cream or gel) and oral medication (pill, capsule or tablet) to treat rosacea. Topical medications. Medications you apply to your skin once or twice daily may help reduce inflammation and redness. They may also be used along with oral medications or as part of a maintenance program to control symptoms. Common topical medications include antibiotics such as metronidazole (Metrocream, Metrogel, others), tretinoin (Atralin, Renova, others), benzoyl peroxide and azelaic acid (Azelex, Finacea). These topical applications can cause skin irritation, redness, dry skin, and stinging or burning of the skin. Oral antibiotics. Doctors may prescribe oral antibiotics to treat rosacea, more for their anti-inflammatory properties than to kill bacteria. Oral antibiotics are also prescribed because they tend to work faster than topical ones. Common prescription oral antibiotics include tetracycline, minocycline and erythromycin. Possible side effects include stomach discomfort, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, and sore mouth or tongue. Isotretinoin. Isotretinoin (Accutane, Amnesteem, others) is a powerful oral medication sometimes used for severe cases of inflammatory rosacea if other treatment options fail to improve symptoms. Usually prescribed for cystic acne, isotretinoin works to inhibit the production of oil by sebaceous glands. People who take it need close monitoring by a dermatologist because of the possibility of serious side effects, including depression and suicidal thoughts, bone or joint pain, and skin infection or rash. Also, this drug causes birth defects if taken during pregnancy. If you plan to become pregnant or suspect that you are pregnant, stop taking this medicine and check with your doctor. Your doctor may treat ocular rosacea with oral antibiotics or steroid eyedrops. The duration of your treatment depends on the type and severity of your symptoms, but typically you’ll notice an improvement within one to two months. Because symptoms may recur if you stop taking medications, long-term regular treatment is often necessary. Surgical Enlarged blood vessels, some redness and changes due to rhinophyma often become permanent. In these cases, surgical methods, such as laser surgery and electrosurgery, may reduce the visibility of blood vessels, remove tissue buildup around your nose and generally improve your appearance. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/rosacea/DS00308

Question: I am 19 but i worry as i look more and more like 2x. Can i have a young face and look like 19 when i am 29 ten years later? What should i eat? I don’t want to use cosmetics. ” – by ” carl

Answer: a lot of things. SLEEP. They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing. Look into it. Take care of your skin by wearing decent cosmetics and always cleansing your face before bed etc. No smoking! DON’T over expholiate! It’s BAD! If you have oily skin be glad! If not buy a cleanser that actually has oil in it because you do not want to be drying out your skin. Drink water, try some Hair, Skin, Nails vitamins etc. Do your eyebrows, eyebrows make a huge difference but beware of overplucking. Remember that skinny angled brows have a hard effect and make you look older whereas softer (but still groomed!!!) ones have a more youthful effect. Stay away from overtanning but don’t wear suncreen if you don’t need it as it has a lot of chemicals. Get a few minutes in the sun a day. I don’t know about this one but maybe try using some of those like, olay creams for antiaging? Well that’s all i got. Hope you find this helpfull!

Question: Ok, I have been using this routine for a while now and I think it’s time to change it. Because some of the products aren’t working as well as they used to.Right now i’m using: Cetaphil moisturizer for dry sensitive skin – This stuff saved my skin during the winter. But it tends to make my skin feel oily and sometimes i’ll break out.Occasionaly I’ll use Neutrogena oil-free moisture – I love the fact that it has sunscreen so I can wear it for when I go outside but the only drawback is it doesn’t really moisturize my skin it gets flaky.I have mild acne just mostly blackheads so I use Clean&clear Advantage acne spot treatment -Sometimes it works well sometimes it doesn’t i’ve also tried benzoal peroxide and I didn’t like that.So thats what I use.. If you feel I should remove anything or add something please let me know what product and where you can get it I prefer getting it from cvs.I heard your supposed to be using a brightening serum and I want to use an antiaging cream like olay Oh and I also use biore nose and forhead blackhead strips I like those… Thanks for all your help! ” – by ” Riv91

Answer: My advice is this – try using the clear advantage system by Arbonne – it’s 100% pure and natural OR their intelligence line which is 100% pure and natural and self adjusts to all skin types – and use the acne regime you have now on break out sessions (hormonal) I bet you will agree there is no better product for your regime on the market. Whatever you do find make sure it contains no mineral oils – and has a wash, toner and eye cream and repeat at night with a night cream.

Question: ” – by ” anna

Answer: there are so many products out there so which one to choose well the important thing is to read the ingredients and know where they come from ….and some of them you see a difference but if you look in deep you will see the lines and well here is the problem ….using products formulatted with mineral oil, animal products or byproducts is a problem because using these as ingredients is that your skin is not absorbing it and it stays on the top making your pores clog and maybe seeing a temporry, it is like putting celophane paper on your skin and putting the lotions or cremes on it…. also, mineral oil is the 2nd worse thing you could do to your skin, it would be like rubbing car oil on it and exposing yourself to the sun, the sun is #1 and it is the 90% of lines on your skin…. Avoid animal products because these do no get absorbed by our skin and they come from dead animals from the road, meatmarkets etc., you see there are these rendering plants (recycle for animals) that they pick all the dead animals and they put them in a huge pot, squash everything inside, boil it and what comes to the top is what companies use to formulate their “beauty” products… gross i know… the lipsticks, lip balms, eww … anyway, use botanically based products for everything, skin care, makeup, body care, aromatherapy, i use arbonne products and they work just great, thier makeup are vegetale, their skin care roducts are amazing only from plants no chemicals, nature, and their antiaging line is just awesomw, they are so convinced you will like their line that they have a 45 money back guarantee if you are not satisfied w/ their products you return and they give you $ back, that is why i startec to use them, because no other line does this, not estee lauder, lancome, none of them and well i had nothing to loose just the curiosity.. so i buy them online at: http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com under shop online and i receive my products in my house with nobody bothering me nor pushing me to buy…. if i need help i can call a consultant but it would be up to you… anyway try them they are really great …..and remember never sacrifice quality for otc products… Arbonne’s products are highly concentrated so you just need a small amount.

Question: I have sensitive and dry skin, so when I put foundation on and it has been on for a couple of hours, its starts to get all blotchy and you can see my dry skin. I have used a tinted moisturizer but that doesn’t help. ” – by ” Julia

Answer: The best anti aging makeup products that everyone should be using include a good foundation with SPF and anti aging lipstick designed to plump up the lips. With time, your lips naturally lose their fullness so the glosses and lipsticks designed to prevent and correct that can naturally plump them back up without having to resort to Botox or other wrinkle fillers . Remember, you have to be consistent in order to protect your skin from future aging and start to unravel the signs of aging already on your face.  Causes Of Acne And Its Prevention

Question: I’ve had acne for 4 years and I’ve tried everything. I did try proactive but it didn’t really work for me. I have oily skin and I don’t wear makeup. I really want to have a clear face. Also can you tell me some acne scars treatment too. Thank You ” – by ” Little Q

Answer: How to Get Rid of Acne: ………………Thanks to Mama Bear for the following. Lemon Juice Rub fresh lemon juice on your pimples with a gentle hand. The bleaching properties of lemon juice lighten the skin and thus reduce its appearance. Moreover, it removes the topmost layer of the skin surface where bacteria grows and controls the infection. Thus the healthy underlying skin is revealed. If you hesitate to use concentrated lemon juice on the pimple as you fear it may cause skin irritation, then you can dilute it with rose water. Application of Ice This is an easy way to get rid of pimples overnight. You have to pack up some crushed ice in an aluminum foil in order to prevent them from getting melted quickly. Then put it inside a plastic bag and wrap up the pack with a thin towel. Now apply it over the pimples for 10 to 15 minutes. This will shrink the pores forcing the oil and dirt out of it. When the two main culprits are out, you can expect the pimple to clear up in no time. Toothpaste You can get rid of pimples overnight using toothpaste. Many people find it highly beneficial for this purpose. Take some toothpaste on the tip of your finger and apply it on the pimple in such a way that the entire pimple is covered up with the toothpaste properly. Leave it on the pimple overnight. Next morning when you wash it off with warm water, you will be pleasantly surprised with the result. The trick is that the toothpaste absorb all the oil from the pimple and reduce its size so much that it becomes invisible. However, a toothpaste with gel content is not suitable for this treatment. Baking Soda Baking soda is considered as one of the best home remedies for getting rid of pimples overnight. Prepare a thick paste using one cup of baking soda, 3 tablespoons of salt and some water. Rub this paste gently over the affected areas of your face making small circular motions. Leave it on the acne for few minutes and then wash your face with cool water. The exfoliant property of the salt removes the dead skin cells from the pores. The baking soda soften up the skin and restore the normal pH balance of the skin. As a result, the pimple clears up fast. Egg Mask A simple egg mask can help you in getting rid of pimples from your face. Take one or two eggs as per your requirement. Break them and separate the white portion of the eggs from the yolk. It is the egg white that you need to apply as facial mask on your face. Keep it on the face overnight and then wash off with cold water. Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is known for its healing and disinfecting properties. To apply it, start with washing the face thoroughly with an antibacterial soap. Pat dry with a towel and then taking a cotton ball apply apple cider vinegar evenly on the affected skin. Leave on for fifteen minutes before washing it off with cold water. Steam and Clean In the very initial stages of acne when it is still a small zit or just in the form of whitehead and blackhead you can try doing this. Clean your face with cleansing milk using cotton pads. Now scrub it with a gentle face scrub. Take steam on your face for about 8-10 minutes. Now take a sterilized blackhead remover and clean the blackheads and whiteheads. You can also try squeezing pimples if they are very small. Use a clean cotton pad to clean the pus or blood that flows out. Now finish by cleaning the area with an antiseptic lotion or a toner. This procedure will help keep your skin clean and avoid further acne breakouts. Following this everyday before going to bed is one of the easiest ways to get rid of acne fast at home. Acne Prevention Tips •Do not touch the skin areas which are affected by acne with your fingers, as it can spread the infection to other skin areas as well. •Maintain hygiene i.e., use clean bed sheets, pillow cases and towels. Dirty towels can be the breeding ground of germs and bacteria, thereby causing severe cases of acne breakouts. •Dandruff and oil in hair can cause acne too, so to prevent that, avoid doing such hair styles which make your hair touch or fall on your face. •Exercise everyday as it helps in proper blood circulation, and adequate transfer of oxygen to all the body cells. Exercising will help in both reducing stress and preventing acne. •Take shower after undertaking any kind of exercise or physical activity to prevent dirt and sweat from getting accumulated in the skin pores. •Drink lots of fluids and water as it will help in elimination of wastes and toxins from the body, resulting in a blemish free, glowing skin. Take care! Mama Bear

Question: I don’t have terrible acne, but it’s still very noticeable. I have A LOT of blackheads all over my nose, cheeks, and chin. Any tips? I’m 15 by the way. ” – by ” Hoofbeats

Answer: Yes there are faster ways. But for right now very important that you avoid alcohol products to tone your skin. Alcohol is a strong astringent that strips the top layer of the skin causing sebaceous glands to produce more oil. Do not squeeze or pick the acne with fingernails, pins or any other thing. It forces the bacteria deeper into the skin and often leaves a permanent acne scar. Exercising regularly can also help reduce stress and it increases blood circulation and oxygen penetration to the skin, which may help with acne prevention. Drink plenty of water a day to help “detoxify” the body from the inside out. Consume food rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B-2, Vitamin B-3, Vitamin E and Zinc like eggs, nuts, liver, milk, fish and leafy green vegetables. Proper sleep and a life without stress and emotional anxiety can reduce acne. This method is beneficial only after a real acne treatment. Most people stick to this method to avoid acne problem so it won’t occur again.

Question: I favor natural methods to treating my skin now (since no derms have helped and i’ve found better results with self-treatment) i was wondering if there are specific foods or a general diet thats really good for clearing acne and the skin basically? ” – by ” Charming Sociopath

Answer: Acne Trigger Foods We know fast food is bad, but it can also bring on pimples. Fast Food: Everyone knows that fast food is just not good for you. However, not everyone is aware that it can lead to acne as well. Fast food is full of grease, oil, and fat that can inflate your figure and break your face out. Whiteheads and Blackheads pop up when pores get clogged by oil in the skin, so keeping fast food out of your diet may stop the build-up of oil in your body. Spicy Food: Most people have been stung by a bee or bitten by a mosquito, so they know that the area sorrounding the sing or bite feels warm to the touch. Well, when someone eats spicy food, the body has a similar reaction. It causes warming and inflammation. This happens because your body lets out chemicals and antibodies to fight the spice. These things may benefit your body, but the stress it places on your system may lead to acne. Unfortunately for those who love Mexican food, spicy foods have been shown to trigger acne. Foods that cause you to have allergic reactions: For some reason, some people’s bodies treat certain foods as if they are invaders that you need protection from. Just like spicy foods, these foods will throw your body into chaos, thus causing inflammation, stress, and acne. So, if you are one of those people that say, “I have an allergy to food A, but it does not bother me that much, so I still eat it sometimes”. You need to stop eating foods that you are allergic to. Eating those foods is not a good idea and not good for your body. Your body is telling you to avoid them. Milk may do a body good, but it can also bring about acne breakouts in some people. Dairy Products: Did you know that most animals bodies cannot tolerate milk when they grow out of infancy. And, if milk was not heavily integrated into the U.S.’s diet, human’s bodies would be the same way. Many people that live in other countries are actually considered to be lactose intolerant. In the United States, there are many people who are unaware that they have an intolerance. They just continue to drink milk, and they have no idea what it does to their body. Diary products can also cause inflammation, unfortunately resulting in an acne trigger food. Vegetable Oil: Vegetable oil has various negative effects on our bodies. This food makes our list because the oils not only clog your pores, but they also causes inflammation. Both of these things, as you know, cause acne. So, beware. Vegetable oil is in many foods, so be careful. Virgin olive oil is a great alternative, and has actually showed some ability to fight off acne. Vegetable oil is in a lot of our foods, and is known as an acne food trigger. Prevention is the most favorable way to treat acne. If you do not get acne to begin with then there is no need to further control it. In some cases, acne is simply a result of your body’s negative reacting to an ingested substance. This might sound absolutely ludicrous if you already suffer from acne, but if you stay away from the foods listed above, you are one step ahead in the battle to prevent acne. It seems once we get that first breakout, more are not far behind. So we need to be aware of anything that might trigger acne breakouts. The Acne no More system gets into more details about different foods and how they can cause your body to breakout. This system is a must for anyone wanting to get rid of your acne. If you have tried various cleansers, quick fixes, and medications – give this system a try. It has been proven to cure acne and prevent further breakouts. We highly recommend it. Hopefully, you now have a generally idea of the modifications you need to make to your diet. We may love our acne trigger foods, but we also like having acne free skin. Good luck with your acne problem.

Question: My friend’s dad is a dermatologist and said that dairy can cause acne, and I’m wondering if other people have found this to be true. I’m a vegan and have never had a spot or blackhead, but someone I know who has acne eats a lot of dairy, and I wonder if that could be his problem. He’s a 30 year old man, so he’s way past his teenage years. ” – by ” Jenny

Answer: Hi, having a bad diet or a healthy diet does effect peoples’ acne condition. So you need to do your research, on what to and not what to eat. Enclosed is a article, I think you would find useful. Healthy Diet for Acne Prone Skin Don’t eat that — you’ll get zits! We’ve all heard it; from parents, friends or even the family doctor. But the fact is, even after extensive study, scientists have not found a connection between diet and acne. Not chocolate. Not french fries. Not pizza. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, “A healthy diet is important for improving raw materials for healthy skin,” but they also note that greasy or sugary foods do not cause acne.1 Likewise, a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association concurred, “Diet plays no role in acne treatment in most patients…even large amounts of certain foods have not clinically exacerbated acne. 1. Of course, that doesn’t mean you should make a habit of eating foods high in sugar or fat. The skin is the body’s largest organ, so what’s good for the rest of you will be good for your skin, too. Acne Prevention & Diet – Nutrients for healthy skin. There are a number of nutrients found in everyday foods that are known to promote a healthy body — and therefore healthy skin. Get wise to these substances, and you’ll increase your chances of conquering your acne. Acne Prevention & Diet – Vitamin A. Naturally occurring Vitamin A, or Retinal, is found in fish oils, liver and dairy products. The Vitamin A produced by plants is known as Beta-carotene, and is found in yellow/orange fruits and vegetable such as carrots, yams, apricots and cantaloupe, as well as green vegetables like parsley, kale and spinach. Extremely high doses of Vitamin A are toxic, so don’t overdo it. Acne Prevention & Diet – Vitamin B- 2. Stress has been known to aggravate existing cases of acne, and Vitamin B-2 is often helpful alleviating stress. Foods with a high concentration of B-2 include whole grains, fish, milk, eggs, meat and leafy green vegetables. Acne Prevention & Diet – Vitamin B- 3. Found in peanuts, eggs, avocados, liver and lean meats, Vitamin B-3 improves circulation, promoting healthy skin. It also reduces the cholesterol level in the blood and helps you metabolize protein, sugar & fat — increasing your energy through proper utilization of food. Acne Prevention & Diet – Vitamin E. Vitamin E is found in almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds, broccoli, wheat germ and vegetable oils. A powerful antioxidant, it protects your cells against the effects of free radicals, which are potentially damaging by-products of the body’s metabolism. Acne Prevention & Diet – Zinc. Even in trace amounts, the antioxidant zinc is known to boost the immune system, improving overall health — which of course is reflected in the skin. Zinc can be found in eggs, whole grains, nuts and mushrooms. Acne Prevention & Diet – Know your own triggers. Since acne is different for everyone, there may be certain foods that cause flare-ups in your skin. Clearly, these foods should be avoided. You may also want to check your vitamin supplements for their iodine content; while normal amounts of iodine have not been shown to affect skin, amounts greater than the RDA of 150 MCCG may aggravate your acne. Overall, use your common sense. Drink lots of water and eat a healthy, balanced diet — but don’t be afraid to indulge your cravings every now and then. Question: I have pretty bad acne scars on my forehead and I would like to get rid of them rather than packing on concealer, please help! I would like to get rid of them before school starts! ” – by ” Sam

Question: I have been having lots of acne breakouts on my face lately. When I was a teenager I had few breakouts and when I did they were minor ( a few in the t zone area). I am in my forties now and having problems like I was a teenager! I get a lot on the sides of my face along with some t zone blemishes. I suspect that it is due to fluctuating hormones as I am peri-menopausal. Does anyone have suggestions as to how I can control these breakouts? Thanks! ” – by ” jazminrose13

Take care! Mama Bear

Question: I am a college senior currently completing my student teaching requirements. As well as being a student teacher, I also work 20 hours or more per week plus I must attend a weekly seminar. Due to work, I must be up at 6AM every day of the week, including weekends. The latest I have to work on school nights is 9PM. During my “free time” I write lesson plans, prepare for upcoming lessons, and maintain a strong relationship with my boyfriend. My typical night ends around 9 or 10PM and by that point I want to do something for myself. I usually lay in bed and watch more than one episode of my current favorite show, each of which is 50 minutes. By this point, I fall asleep with the show playing and at an inexcusably late time. What I want to know is, How can I get a good night’s sleep every night and still make some “me” time? I’m looking for tips on getting a good night’s sleep on a busy schedule, and tips for creating “me” time in an already demanding schedule. Serious answers only please. Provide sources if possible. ” – by ” bloodsugars3xmagik

Answer: Ok well the best suggestions I can give you are first see if there are any things you do where you can cut out of your schedule. If there isn’t then maybe see if any of these things can be combined. For example, are you able to write your lessons well and do something else such as watching the show? This might open up some free time for yourself. Are there any tasks in your life that you could ask for help with to get them done quicker? Lastly, though it sucks maybe only allow yourself to watch one of your most favorite shows. To prevent yourself from going past this, set an alarm so you are only allowing yourself a set time of tv time. For myself some of this worked for myself and I manage to always get 8 hours a sleep each night with a pretty busy schedule myself.

Question: I just got an 8 week old yellow lab pup and i’m curious how long till she will be able to go through the night without being let out. i currently get her out two times a night and am planning on decreasing it to one time in a week or so. no accidents in the crate so far and she went through last night without crying at all, but i’m getting a little run down with sleep deprivation lol. just curious how long it will be till i get a decent night’s sleep. thanks! ” – by ” Elizabeth L

Answer: Look at the size of your pup, and now think about how small the bladder must be inside that little ball of fluff. With both my pups, they probably went out for last toilet break at about midnight, and would wake us again at about 5am. We gained about half an hour a week if I remember correctly, and we were probably getting a decent hour about 8 to 9am by the time they were about 12 weeks old. If feels like the early mornings and sleepless nights are going to last forever, but I promise you, in no time at all they will start lasting longer. Its just when you are caught up in the exhausting stage where you nap when they are sleeping, that it feels like its lasting months, rather than just a few weeks. So long as you don’t make a big fuss, and just let them know that you are only up for a toilet break and straight back to bed, you shouldn’t have them getting up for any other reasons, such as thinking its play time, so they will quickly learn when their bladder is stronger, that waking you up will only mean toilet time, and nothing more exciting.

Question: I read a textbook sometime ago about human’s ability to adjust positions during a night’s sleep. The book mentioned the number of times we adjust and re-adjust positions during sleep but I forgot the average number of times it happens and the duration ” – by ” lexis

Answer: That kind of information varies as much as the number of people that do sleep at night. The number of adjustments is so varied that finding an average is of little statistical value (it’s like finding the average length of time we spend walking to the store). Anyway, it highly depends on how sound you sleep and also how comfortable the sleeping surface feels. On some nights, you tum more often if you are hot or sweat more, or if disturbed by noise, or of blood circulation to various body parts gets disrupted by your sleeping position, or of your partner nudges you a bit, or if your bed-cover slips away, of if you get a small bout of involuntary twitches, or if you dream, or very tired and really need to rest. The list is almost endless.

Herbal Skin Care

Question: i hate scrubs they just give me little bumps under the skin which im now trying to get rid of,im only 15 and was blessed with acne/oil free skin.my skin can look perfect in one mirror but in another with a lot of light at all angles i see this little bumps. I want some thing so i can have soft skin. any suggestions and im not really into highend designer skin care more like cvs thanks ” – by ” Rima

Answer: I’ve been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it’s at. I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life. I’m 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy. Literally the best acne face wash I’ve ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It’s unique cause of it’s herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful. You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn’t work it will still save you butt on the return policy. Well good luck and best wishes.

Question: I’m 28weeks pregnant now and i do have skin rashes first in my tummy almost all part and now at my back..it so itchy..i guess it isnt due to stetchmark for it is like a prickly heat my it isnt..Does anyone can recommend me some medication for these without harming my baby? ” – by ” mabait31

Answer: HI MaBait Here are a few ideas to heal the issue. Cause Although most rashes are not symptoms of a serious health problem, they can be signs of allergies, liver and gallbladder problems, lupus, bleeding disorders, nutritional deficiencies, and autoimmune diseases. Rashes can also be due to the elimination of toxic wastes through the skin, or of an active immune reaction to an invading organism. Suppression of such a rash can lead to chronic disease states. Rather than try to suppress the rash, in such cases watchful waiting may be more advisable. Caution: If your rash becomes chronic, forms a “butterfly” shape over your cheeks, or is accompanied by high fever and joint pains, seek immediate medical attention to rule out more serious illnesses. ——————————… Natural Cures Diet: Screen for and eliminate any foods to which you are allergic or sensitive. Eat an organic, whole foods diet, with plenty of green leafy vegetables and yellow vegetables such as carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and winter squash. Also drink plenty of pure, filtered water, and avoid all processed foods and chemical food additives. Flower Essences: Rescue Remedy Cream® applied topically to the affected areas. Herbs: The following herbal remedies can speed healing: A tincture of equal parts burdock root and gentian root, the fresh juice of coriander, and/or aloe vera juice or gel. Homeopathy: Useful homeopathic remedies include Belladonna, Sulfur, Graphites, and Calc carb. Hydrotherapy: Hydrotherapy is the application of water, ice, steam and hot and cold temperatures to maintain and restore health. Treatments include full body immersion, steam baths, saunas, sitz baths, colonic irrigation and the application of hot and/or cold compresses. Hydrotherapy is effective for treating a wide range of conditions and can easily be used in the home as part of a self-care program. Many Naturopathic Physicians, Physical Therapists and Day Spas use Hydrotherapy as part of treatment. *Purified water is essential for any hydrotherapy treatment. Remedies for Treating Chlorinated Bath Water offers clear instructions and recommendations. Juice Therapy: Drink fresh squeezed vegetable juices on a daily basis, especially carrot, beet, radish, and garlic juice. Nutritional Supplementation: The following nutrients can be helpful to speed healing: vitamin A and vitamin E (both orally and applied topically over the affected areas), vitamin C, essential fatty acids (EFAs), flaxseed oil, and amma linolenic acid (GLA). In addition, add half a teaspoon of baking soda to water and drink every fifteen minutes. Do this three times, and then every two to three hours for two to three days or until the reaction subsides. Alternative Professional Care If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating rashes: Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Detoxification Therapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Orthomolecular Medicine, Osteopathy, Oxygen Therapy (Hydrogen Peroxide), and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Best of health to you

Question: I’m planning to make my breast bigger with estrogen pills. Judge I don’t care. However I do want to know how long would it take. Also, I’m a little unsteady about this. What are the side effects if I take estrogen pills? ” – by ” blah

Answer: Hi, Pl. try breast massage. Breast massage is one of the best ways to help create a more beautiful bustline by helping to shape, tone and promote growth of the breast and the area surrounding the breast. By massaging the breasts on a regular basis, many ladies have claimed it has enhanced the shape, size and overall attractiveness of their breast. Here are some guidelines for breast massage you may want to follow: 1.) Use Olive Oil or any other cream of your choice to help prevent friction and increase the enjoyment and relaxation of the massage for a more pleasurable and therapeutic experience. This can be an herbal mixture – there are some good ones out there that really do help to promote firmess and breast tone, while creating a larger and more rounded look. 2.) Light to moderate massaging using a gentle back and forth gentle “swishing” action is best. This can be in a counterclockwise circle around the breast to help promote maximum lymphatic drainage. 3.) To gain maximum benefit and therapeutic effects, breast massage should be practiced daily, as part of a routine – perhaps when fresh out of the shower, since the skin is still somewhat moist and the room may still be steamy, for a smoother massage which may be more easily lubricated since there will still be moisture in the air. If you prefer, even several times a day can be a great benefit.

Question: I have 1 month before school and people say im not fat but well im chubby lol. When i go back I want to be stunning. So if i consume 200 calories a day how much can i lose in 1 month? Im not stopping eating i am just eating food with low fat and calories. Thanks I am 5′ 4″ and 130 and at risk of over weight I just wanna weigh like 110 ” – by ” ♥Danyelle Renee♥

Answer: I think you’re perfect the way you are, but if you wanna lose weight then dont eat super little. you have to make sure youre full but dont stuff yourself. eat: Six to 11 servings of breads, cereals, rice, and pasta Three to five servings of vegetables Two to four servings of fruit Two to three servings of dairy products Two or three servings of meat, fish, poultry, and legumes (i got that from the canadian food guide) and do a lot of exercise and make sure you dont starve. also DO NOT DIET! everyone i know that has tried dieting told me that it doesnt work. try detoxing. the top 10 detox foods are: Green leafy vegetables Eat them raw, throw them into a broth, add them to juices. Their chlorophyll helps swab out environmental toxins (heavy metals, pesticides) and protects the liver. Lemons You need to keep the fluids flowing to wash out the body and fresh lemonade is ideal. Its vitamin C, considered the detox vitamin, helps convert toxins into a water-soluble form that’s easily flushed away. Watercress Put a handful into salads, soups, and sandwiches. The peppery little green leaves have a diuretic effect that helps move things through your system. And cress is rich in minerals too. Garlic Add it to everything — salads, sauces, spreads. In addition to the bulb’s cardio benefits, it activates liver enzymes that help filter out junk. Green tea This antioxidant-rich brew is one of the healthiest ways to get more fluids into your system. Bonus: It contains catechins, which speed up liver activity. Broccoli sprouts Get ’em at your health-food store. They pack 20 to 50 times more cancer-fighting, enzyme-stimulating activity into each bite than the grown-up vegetable. Sesame seeds They’re credited with protecting liver cells from the damaging effects of alcohol and other chemicals. For a concentrated form, try tahini, the yummy sesame seed paste that’s a staple of Asian cooking. Cabbage There are two main types of detoxifying enzymes in the liver; this potent veggie helps activate both of them. Coleslaw, anyone? Psyllium A plant that’s rich in soluble fiber, like oat bran, but more versatile. It mops up toxins (cholesterol too) and helps clear them out. Stir powdered psyllium into juice to help cleanse your colon, or have psyllium-fortified Bran Buds for breakfast. Fruits, fruits, fruits They’re full of almost all the good things above: vitamin C, fiber, nutritious fluids, and all kinds of antioxidants. Besides, nothing tastes better than a ripe mango, fresh berries, or a perfect pear. (got that from some yahoo site thing)

Question: Is it harmful in any way? ” – by ” Pea93

Answer: Detox is mostly a fraud. It can be harmful depending on which one. The body’s organs are constantly cleaning. http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/guide/detox-diets-purging-myths If looking at it for weight loss, any starvation diet of under about 1100 calories a day has a lot of negative effects, and generally, after the diet, you put the weight back on plus more and end up heavier than you started. Starvation diets tend to have water weight and muscle loss, and can lead to a big list of problems I don’t wish to get into. It can kill you.
